We are very proud to say everything about our greeting cards is unique, one of a kind and custom made. From the paper stock and digital printing, to the card fabrication and folding process, each thing is done right here, in Cuenca, Ecuador. This also includes the development and construction of our distinct and unsecured envelopes.
When we began our little card company, nothing was easy. Creating designs, setting up a store, coding the website, our to-do list went on forever. But the hardest part by-far, was creating the envelopes. We spent countless hours researching manufactures all over town, only to find that we could not acquire the envelope seal or gum to secure the flap.
By this point, we were very discouraged and almost ready to give up on the whole idea. But after talking with some of our new local friends, we were repeatedly asked, why would you want to seal the envelope anyway? Greeting cards are meant to be hand delivered. The Ecuadorian tradition is to leave the envelope unsealed or simply use a piece of tape to close it.
Our greeting cards and thank you notes were made specifically for anyone living or visiting in Cuenca, Ecuador. So credit the famous saying "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do". We decided to adopt to this quaint custom. Our envelopes are unsealed, and they will always be unsealed. A little American flair with some great Ecuadorian style.
